This express blended learning First Aid Course is very popular. Topics cover many of the emergency situations likely to require first aid. In the portion of the training, you are taught how to provide first aid with confidence. The distance learning component can be completed on-line via e-learning or in the traditional way using pen and paper. Those that are time challenged find this method very convenient.
This course is suitable for anyone requiring a senior first aid certificate, especially relevant for employment opportunities such as Police, childcare, nursing for the elderly, teachers, workplace first aid, massage therapists, podiatrists, fitness instructors, physiotherapists, airline hosts and other healthcare professionals.
Course details
Purpose: Gain the confidence to deal with an adult or child casualty when help is required.
Course Format: Blended: Complete 2 hours of unsupervised pre-course study and attend 5.5 hours of face to face training and assessment.
Assessment: Distance learning workbook, practical continuous assessments during face-to-face and a short theory exam.

ASSESSMENT PRACTICAL - Practical tasks and scenario demonstrations
The simulated assessment environments will reflect the real-life
working environment where these skills and knowledge would be
performed, with all the relevant equipment and resources of that
working environment. Skills must be demonstrated by the student
working individually in an environment that provides realistic
in-depth, industry-validated scenarios and simulations to assess
students’ skills and knowledge.
It’s important that students have knowledge of the content of this
course. The assessable practical skills are listed below.
You will be assessed on performing first aid scenario and task
demonstrations for:
1. Infant CPR
2. Adult CPR & defibrillation
3. Anaphylaxis & autoinjector
4. Asthma & medication
5. Choking
6. Turn a casualty on his/her side
7. Bleeding control & shock
8. PIT for a snake/spider bite
9. Rice for sprain

Course requirements
There are no prerequisite, entry, work-placement, licensing or certification requirements for this course.
Please note: CPR must be demonstrated on the floor for 2 minutes
